EARTHQUAKE SHAKE DOWN
INTRODUCTION:It’s been a long years, and terrifying days, ever since the earthquake has struck Christchurch, other countries and islands. Now Christchurch is a big mess, but lucky, they have been people who felt sorry for the Christchurch's accident, also decided to volunteer and help out. During our days at school, we should now be able to have earthquake drills, which we call sirens. We have been learning to DROP, COVER, HOLD, onto our desk. It helps us.What do you do when an earthquake shake? well that’s what most people say. I want to be there when an earthquake shake? that is what silly people say. I haven't been in an earthquake yet? well you lucky...BING:It was sad, when a lot of people lost their love ones, I wish I was there to help. Christ church had the most earthquakes. A lot of people in Christchurch was not expecting that when it first hit, in the first place. I was so disappointed at the earthquake. I was not sure why.A lot of places had collapsed and was crushed on other things like cars and taller buildings than restaurants,Supermarkets and Stadiums, like the Jctv Stadium.BANG:Our school has learn a lot about it, and now at school's, All classes have sirensjust in case an earthquake will struck. When the siren rings we all learn how to DROP, COVER, HOLD. for as long as the siren stops we do it really fast, some of us couldn't fit properly like me. This morning the siren went on at 9:26, Wednesday the 26 of September 2012, we all done what we all had to do, and it was, DROP, COVER, HOLD. That was a practice to see how we do.Kids and Students in Christchurch are really serious they are really quiet when there siren comes on, Because sometimes it really happens.BONG:A lot of kids ask what to do when a earthquake shake or shiver, sometimes if they don’t know what to do, they search it up. It is important for us to know what to do when a earthquake shake, because if one comes we know what to do.IN CONCLUSION:It’s been sad day's for islands and countries that had earthquakes a lot of times', mostly Christchurch.
At school we have sirens, which helps us.
For those who been in a earthquake before and has really bad injury I hope it heal's.
If you haven't been in a earthquake your very lucky.
Thanks for reading my earthquake shakedown.

Stuck in a dream
On a mysterious night a boy called Daniel was haunted by a whisper ghost. He felt sick of it ,he keeps on telling his parents about it but they think every thing is okay and he is just daydreaming. So he went to the doctors and they said that Daniel was a bit feeling dizzy, and one day he went past this very, old, disgusting, house. Daniel thought of getting in there so he did. "Every step I take fells like I'm just walking on the same spot." But he wasn't.
So he decided to search some more in the house, every time he walks a very strange noise comes up behind him. When he went upstairs, someone keeps on calling his name and other different words like “look behind you.” Eric got the creeps and goosebumps all over his body. There was a sign that told him to stay out, but he did not listen. When he went in and there were so many pictures of little babies and children crying, screaming, and terrified. Beside all of those pictures were even more terrifying Eric was shocked and scared. It was pictures of his friends, family, and himself, around it were words that said, they are next. He ran out as fast as he could to get to the door, he was lost. Eric felt like he was in a scary maze game, with spirits and ghost laughing and getting ready to attack him. He found this other door and opened it. Then he ran back to his house with a massive bike, and a path which led him to his house. “Mum, Dad” said Eric. “Its a murder house, I was right,” “you're losing your mind,”
“There were pictures of us, and my friends, you gotta call the cops”. “Go the bed now stop imagining, maybe you banged your head on something hard”. He went to sleep and by the time he lay his head down it was a dream. But it keeps on repeating. “OH NO I’M STUCK IN MY DREAM”.Tuesday 18 September 2012
Sandwich making
Cheese with Tuna & Apple..YUMMY |
We were all surprised and happy. While we were walking to the hall, I heard lots of people talking about the sandwich making, like some of room 9 and room 11. I knew some of them couldn't wait to make the sandwiches.
When we got there everything was prepared. The tables was prepared and wrapped around with paper. The cheese on every table was looking good.
We all sat down getting ready to make and decorate our sandwiches.
But first we had a prayer to bless the food, then the teachers were going everywhere putting vegetables on the plates, we had fun and we enjoyed making the sandwich. We had cucumbers, cheese, grated carrot, ham, lettuce, buttered bread, and tuna with little apple pieces, also some buns.
That was a delicious meal. Thanks to the sponsors of Pak'n'Save, without them bringing the food, the teachers wouldn't have planned it. As soon as we had our prayer, the kids rushed for the cheese and most of all the ham. Yum-yum. We laughed a lot.
I made a sandwich with a lot of ham and cheese. I had two sandwiches and one funny bun, which was shaped like an oval.
After that we cleaned the hall, stacked the chairs and cleaned the floor. Finally we went to class, Than went outside to play. the funny part was when a friend of mine, Evelyn was laughing so much that she nearly chocked.
Thanks to all the teachers who prepared the hall and to Pak'n'Save for supplying the food.
We are all looking forward to have another sandwich making.

Feeling a little nervous
The criteria we had to use to write and present our speech included, an introduction, delivery, content and our conclusion. We also had to:
1) Pose a question.
2) Use powerful words
3) Also appropriate words.
Last week Room 12 down to Room 8 had to present their speech on Olympics. When we finished writing or typing our speech we had to read it and see if it is good. When I heard that we had to read our speeches to the class I felt astonished.
The reasons why we had to read our speech is because we needed to find four winners for our speech competition on Friday 17 of August. It has to be 2 year 6's & 2 year 7's. I was second to read my speech, and I was ready! I kind of felt nervous but did not worry. When I finished my voice was clear and I made good eye contact. I really needed more information and to make it a bit longer because my time was 1.55. Next time I could include more of my own ideas and research my topic more.
After that, we all read our speeches for the third time and chose a winner. It was Chloe and Enosi
for the year six and Auariki and Tan-Charlie for the year sevens.
On the Friday 17 of August (the final day) Chloe, Enosi, Auariki and Tan-Charlie had one last chance to practise.
Finally we have lined up to go in the hall. I knew that some of them were nervous because their voice was shaky. The good news is that Chloe came second and Auariki came fourth. I knew Chloe would come second.

I WAS SOOOOO EXCITED
On the 25th of July we were getting our netbooks. Everybody was so happy, and surprised. My teacher,(Mrs. Barry) was so much happy then me.
This was the first time we’ve got to type and learn on our netbooks. This was a big miracle because our education will change alot.
We were so excited thinking on what was going to happen next. It was a huge day for us to learn. the bell rang. we ate, played and then another bell rang. Rm12 had to wait outside for miss barry.
When Mrs. Barry opened the door she yelled loud and said “NETBOOK DAY”! then we all screamed.
Mr Ramkolowan had told us that we had to go in the hall. At the time we got there our parents were there and even the other classes. We couldn’t wait.
After That we sat down in the front, then we greeted our principal Mr hendriks and our parents also the Manaiakalani sponsors. Finally we were handed in our netbook. that was the most exciting thing that has ever happened.
Our parents came to look at our brand new netbook, and then Rm. 9 to 12 pressed start all together. That was wonderful.
Finally we went to class with our netbook and played games
What are wonderful morning.
